Transfer News: Manchester United to send Amad Diallo on loan after Ralf Rangnick decision

According to the club’s specialised journalist, Jonathan Shrager, Manchester United are looking to facilitate a loan transfer for Amad Diallo after Ralf Rangnick has decided that he is not in the plans for this season. He has struggled to gather game time this season as he has featured only in one game this term.

Rangnick has told Diallo that he has no place in the team this campaign, so Man United are looking to send him out on a temporary transfer this month. The only match he had played this season was against Young Boys in the Champions League, although he did play two games in the youth division.

The 19-year-old was close to joining Feyenoord the previous summer but the move was brought to a halt after he had suffered a thigh injury during training. The Dutch club supposedly had rekindled their interest at the start of December, so it remains to be seen if they would try to get him this month.

Best option?

The Ivorian has really struggled to earn minutes with the senior team, so it would not have been any use for him to stay at Old Trafford and rust on the bench. There are plenty of options in the attacking areas, with players like Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial also struggling to get game time.

The United youngster needs minutes at this point in his career as it would be crucial in shaping his future. He has made nine appearances for the senior team across all competitions and has scored one goal alongside an assist. Diallo impressed in the previous campaign for the U23s youth set up, meaning he may not find it difficult to earn suitors this term.

While the Red Devils star has not made his mark in the first team, he has ample time to make it in the future. By that time, he may also see the attacking lineup getting thinned with the potential departure of some fringe players, with veterans like Edinson Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo also making way for future stars.

It remains to be seen whether a loan transfer would be facilitated in the coming days as it would be helpful for him to find a new club as soon as possible. Time will tell us where his next destination is and if it would be the Eredivisie side.
