Journo claims Bayern Munich ace Robert Lewandowski is keen on Premier League move amidst Manchester United links

Speaking in an interview, as quoted by The Sun, Sky Sports Germany reporters Marc Behrenbeck has claimed that Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski is keen on a move to the Premier League amidst links to Manchester United.

The Polish marksman has been in scintillating form again this season. The striker has bagged 30 goals and provided 3 assists in 25 appearances across all competitions, proving that he is not slowing down anytime soon.

Man United were keen on the player before re-signing Cristiano Ronaldo this summer. However, there has since been no indication that they have stopped pursuing a deal for him. In fact, they could launch a bid for him in the coming summer following recent revelations.

Sky Sports Germany reporter Marc Behrenbeck has revealed that the centre-forward, and his agent, Pini Zahavi, shall ‘push for a move’ at the end of the season.

“What we know about Lewandowski and his agent Pini Zahavi…Lewandowski really wants to have this one big move to Spain or the Premier League. Really great markets for players. So, Lewandowski and his agent will try to get this move in the summer.

“But until this time, Bayern want to extend his contract. So, what is happening at Bayern at the moment? The first point of contact is Lewandowski to extend his contract. and if this does not work, they will be back in the game around Erling Haaland. But Lewandowski is dreaming of Spain and the Premier League.”

Lewandowski to Old Trafford?

It could not happen, could it? We signed Ronaldo in the summer, and the Portuguese has provided a decent return. However, partnering him with arguably the best striker at the moment would make us unstoppable and relentless.

But that is easier said than done. As Marc Behrenbeck reiterated, the player could also move to Spain if he does decide to call it quits at the Allianz Arena. Moreover, he was also interested in listening to what Chelsea had to say when they made him an offer last summer. However, the Blues have since broken their transfer record to sign Romelu Lukaku.

Regardless, Man United are likely to face competition if they do put their name in the hat to sign the Polish international. It is a great opportunity to snap up one of the best strikers in the game, especially since Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial could be out of the club in six months.

A lot of factors could come into play when signing such an elite player, but the Red Devils have often been successful in orchestrating moves for big-name players, as evidenced recently by the signings of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane, and of course, CR7. The Theatre of Dreams would be happy to welcome another superstar to the fore, and the Old Trafford faithful would be more than pleased if that name is Lewandowski.

Despite his age, he has shown what he is capable of time again with the Bavarians. Age has rarely been a barrier for a striker to succeed at Old Trafford, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Cavani, and Ronaldo just some of the names to have had an impressive spell for the Red Devils in recent times.
