Manchester United wonderkid Mason Greenwood has interest from Barcelona, Arsenal and Juventus for a potential transfer
According to the Catalan publication El Nacional (h/t The Sun), Manchester United youngster Mason Greenwood has attracted interest from Barcelona, Arsenal and Juventus for a potential transfer in the future. It is amidst a scenario where he has found it tough to earn regular minutes under Ralf Rangnick.
Greenwood only started against Young Boys in the Champions League under Rangnick, a game where the German manager gave a run-out to several second-string players. He did feature in all three games since the interim manager took the new role but has found it tough to enter the starting lineup.
Premier League rivals Arsenal, alongside Barca and Juve, are keen admirers of the 20-year-old and are looking at possibilities for a future move. They are ready to make an offer for the forward should he decide to leave Old Trafford anytime soon.
The Blaugrana club are also keeping tabs on Anthony Martial, who could be on the way out with his future still up in the air. It has become clear that whether it is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Michael Carrick, or Rangnick, Martial isn’t ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo in the pecking order.
Can’t see it
Greenwood is a Man United academy graduate who rose through the ranks in recent years and is one of the brightest gems to come out of our youth system. As he is one of our own, we have a soft spot for him and want him to succeed while donning the Red Devils shirt.
The Manchester United star has scored 34 goals while assisting 12 times for the senior side, having played in 122 matches. He has a lot of years ahead of him and has not yet reached his potential, which makes him an obvious valuable asset. It would be preposterous from us if we offload him so early on in his career, that too to a PL rival such as Arsenal.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani do not have much footballing years in their bag, whereas Martial is clearly struggling to hold a regular starting position at the club. Jesse Lingard is playing catch up and Marcus Rashford is around the same wavelength as Greenwood. In such circumstances, it would be unwise for us to even entertain any interest from others regarding the Englishman.

There is a lot riding on Greenwood’s young shoulders. Alongside Rashford, he could well be the future of this Man United team. It is hard to think that any United fan would be pleased if we sell Greenwood for a short-term gain rather than focusing on the bigger picture.
Arsenal fans haven’t been shy to make big claims about the abilities of starlets such as Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. It’s best that they focus on supporting their players because dreaming of poaching our homegrown talents can be a futile exercise.
