Real Madrid eye a sensational move for Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo
According to Football Insider (h/t ESPN), Real Madrid have targeted Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo for a sensational return to Santiago Bernabeu. He recently returned to the Manchester club following a twelve-year gap which has seen him ply his trade in Spain and Italy.
Ronaldo left Madrid in 2018 for Juventus after a mammoth £99.2million was paid for his services. Following a three year stint in Turin, he returned to Old Trafford for a fee of £12.86million plus £6.8million in add-ons. He started his new life well, saving the team in multiple games.
Real are interested in re-signing Cristiano and are ready to make their move in January. They are banking on how the striker would not suit the style of play preferred by the interim manager, Ralf Rangnick. Los Blancos retain hope that CR7 could leave if he cannot adjusted to the demands of the new man in charge.
Put some effort maybe?
It is quite the claim to say that the Portuguese forward could return to his former club, having joined just this season. What is funny is how he has just played one match this season under Rangnick and was heavily involved in defending from the front. Things could change in the future, but something drastic has to happen to consider the possibility of a move.
When you look at the circumstances at which the Red Devils forward left Los Blancos, it is puzzling that Florentino Perez has shown an interest. The Portugal international himself stated how he left due to the strained relationship with the club president, and it is doubtful that something has changed.
Their status could change behind the scenes, but those who followed the Spanish club over the years would know how stern Perez is. What the United ace told about the La Liga club’s president goes in line with their transfer business this summer. Club legend Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, who were ever-present in their success, were deemed indispensable and was subsequently sold.

Until there is something solid from reliable sources like the player, his agent or the clubs themselves, it is strongly recommended that the news is taken with a pinch of salt. Plus, quitting Old Trafford to move to Real Madrid for a second time will not endear the 36-year-old to an adoring Red Devils fanbase.
