Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba met PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi ahead of January transfer window
According to the Athletic (h/t The People Person), Manchester United star Paul Pogba recently met Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi in a hotel in Paris amidst rumours that he might leave English giants at end of the season.
Pogba’s contract with the Red Devils is set to end in the summer and the French international is free to sign a pre-agreement with the foreign club in the January transfer window.
There have been question marks over Pogba’s future at Manchester for quite a while now and previously he has been linked with several clubs including Real Madrid, PSG and Juventus.
His latest meeting with PSG President will surely intensify the rumours further but according to the same report – a source has described this meeting as a pure coincidence and nothing else.
“PSG sources insist it was nothing more than a coincidence that they were in the same place at the same time.”
Pogba’s time at Manchester United
The Frenchman is United’s record signing and since his move from Juventus back in 2016 – the star has always been in limelight often. Unfortunately, the majority of the time has been for the wrong reasons.
He along with his agent Mino Raiola have never tried to put transfer speculations to rest in the past as well and that has only frustrated the Man United faithful and hierarchy.
The 28-year-old has failed to consistently perform on the field for the Old Trafford outfit. Pogba is at the end of the day a rather underwhelming investment for the club.
Talking about his agent, Mino Raiola has never been shy of flirting with an idea of exit and has given many controversial statements. Last year, ahead of United’s crucial Champions League game against RB Leipzig, he stated that Pogba has no desire to stay at United.
