Sir Alex Ferguson is determined to bring PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino at Manchester United
According to talkSPORT (h/t The Sun), Sir Alex Ferguson is ‘leading the charge’ to make PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino the next Manchester United manager.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was given the sack on Sunday after handing him a £7.5million severance package. The axe had to be dropped, and it is time to begin a new era at the club. Michael Carrick has been appointed as the caretaker, while Laurent Blanc could become the interim manager.
The French boss is currently managing Al-Rayyan but has a good relationship with the Red Devils. Nevertheless, he is not the answer for the long-term project at hand. Mauricio Pochettino is thought to be the leading contender for that race.
The Argentinian had a stellar tenure at Tottenham Hotspur as he ensured Top 4 qualification year after year. In 2019, he also led the North London club to the Champions League final. However, he was fired in the following months before being hired by PSG at the start of 2021.
He failed to retain the Ligue 1 title last season and went out in the semi-final of the Champions League. But he now has the opportunity to manage a strike force possessing Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar Jr.
However, despite all of this, he is open to returning to England next year. In fact, Sir Alex Ferguson wants him to manage United and believe he is a perfect fit. Moreover, talks are already underway with the 49-year-old’s representatives over a potential move.

Pochettino has considerable Premier League experience and of leading clubs deep into the UCL. His man-management methods and playing style are also influencing factors.
Regardless, Zinedine Zidane and Erik Ten Hag are also in the running, but if Ferguson wants the Argentinian to take over, United would be smart to listen to the man who led them to league glory 13 times.
