But according to Sky Sports (h/t Metro), After the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Cristiano Ronaldo prefers Luis Enrique to become the next Manchester United manager.

Despite having some veteran players and serial achievers, Manchester United fell short to start the season on a high. After five defeats in seven Premier League matches and a seventh-place standing on the table, the Red Devil’s board decided to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjær, who was relieved of his duties earlier today.

The board has decided to rely on Michael Carrick as an interim manager until they find the right man for the job. Many high-profile managers have been linked with the managerial position recently, including former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers, Ajax’s Erik ten Hag and PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Cristiano Ronaldo featured in the 4-1 defeat to Watford and looked frustrated afterwards. The Portuguese player has a winning mentality and always try to put his best efforts on the pitch. Now it seems he is pushing for outside of the pitch decision.

It is believed that the 36-year-old player is favouring Spain manager Luis Enrique to take over the head managerial job at Old Trafford.

The former Real Madrid talisman had some close encounters with Enrique during his time at the Spanish premier division. The Spaniard won two La Liga titles and one Champions League trophy with Barcelona. He has also received success with the national team by a semi-final finish at the EURO 2020.

His trophy cabinet suggests that the Spanish manager holds the right calibre to get the United team back on track. The 51-year-old manager deems to be qualified for such a high profile job. But it would be a considerable challenge even for him to turn things around mid-season.
