Manchester United consider sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after calling for emergency meeting post Watford defeat
According to The Times (Subscription Required), Manchester United have called for an emergency meeting to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after the club’s disastrous defeat to Watford.
The Red Devils suffered yet another humiliating result on Saturday evening. The Hornets were 17th on the table but still managed to knock the stuffing out of United at Vicarage Road.
Josh King, Emmanuel Dennis, Ismaila Sarr, and Joao Pedro all found the back of the net against us. David de Gea had one of his best performances of the season despite the hammering. The Spaniard did as much as he could, but the backline was incompetent, to say the least.
Regardless, all chants were directed towards Solskjaer at the end of the game. The Norwegian was waving goodbye to the supporters as they jeered him on sarcastically. The board have kept patience with the gaffer but it looks like the defeat against Watford was the last straw.
The club have now called a virtual emergency meeting to discuss the manager’s compensation terms. The meeting is scheduled to take place at 7 pm UK Time. This would indicate that the announcement of his departure could be made by the end of the day.
The Glazers have also informed club officials to accelerate the efforts to appoint Zinedine Zidane by raising their offer financially for the 3-time Champions League winner. The Frenchman has the tactical guile and man-management skills to propel us to glory.

However, for Solskjaer, it is the end of the road. He has taken us as far as he could but he is not the answer to our long-term project. United need to aspire for success in the coming years and sacking him could be prove to be the right decision in the future.
