Some fans react on Twitter as Manchester United lose 4-1 to Watford
According to the club’s official Twitter account, Manchester United lost 4-1 to Watford at Vicarage Road.
The dust has settled, and perhaps it is time for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to leave the club. The Red Devils produced an abysmal performance against the 17th placed side in the Premier League.
This game could have been over in the opening minutes itself. The Hornets won a penalty after just five minutes. Ismaila Sarr stepped up, but David de Gea saved from the spot before Kiko Femenia banged the ball in the back of the net. However, the penalty had to be retaken after Fermina and Aaron wan-Bissaka encroached the six-yard box during Sarr’s run-up.
However, De Gea saved again and bailed United out. But Josh King helped Watford take the lead just before the half-hour mark as he found some space in the penalty box. 1-0 would have been fine going into half-time, but Sarr avenged his penalty miss by slamming in the 2nd goal towards the end of the first half.
Solskjaer to be sacked?
Solskjaer brought on Donny van de Beek and Anthony Martial to change the game in the second half. The Dutch midfielder brought an urgency to the ball and combined well with Jadon Sancho, who was also given a rare start. The men in red got a goal back after the English winger delivered a beautiful cross to Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese cushioned the ball down for Van de Beek to head home. It looked like a come-back was possible until Harry Maguire was sent off after being shown a 2nd yellow card for a rough challenge. The game remained 2-1, and an equalizer was still on the cards.
But Joao Pedro and Emmanuel Dennis scored 2 goals in added time to leave the Manchester-based club in tatters. It was a poor showing, and the defeat has seen United move out of the Top 6.
Let us now see how some fans reacted on Twitter to our disastrous result against Watford.
We are a mess. Ole still in a job, Maguire still captain, Donny doesn't start, Telles doesn't get a game….

Even without a coach Manchester United would have survived this humiliating defeat. Period.

Sack Ole. Make Cristiano Ronaldo the captain. Van de Beek should be a starter. Bench McTominay and Bruno. Lingard or Mata should get a chance. #OleOutNow

Just a game robbed by the red card, United was mounting a comeback before the controversial red card. We have seen how Ole brilliantly utilized Danny van de Beek in combination with Ronaldo, superb tactics. Sadly the red card killed the game for us. Honest United fan #OleIn 🙏🙏

Ole's poor managerial tactics is seriously costing Manchester United games; Donny should've been included in the line-up against Watford. It's shameful that a small team like Watford seriously outplayed a big team Man Utd. Hope Ole learns, adopt other tactics & ups his game.

He should never have been given the job. He should have been sacked after Burnley, Leipzig, Villarreal, Young Boys, Leicester, Liverpool, and Man City. He should be sacked right now. But you won't do it. #OleOut
