Manchester United chiefs consider Luis Enrique as a potential replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
According to the Manchester Evening News (h/t The Express), Luis Enrique is being considered by the Manchester United board as a potential replacement to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Spaniard started his career with the Barcelona B side and promoted talent from the La Masia academy. However, he left that job in 2011 and started working for AS Roma. The Italian side sacked him just 10 months into the job after failing to deliver European football.
He went back to La Liga in 2013 and became Celta Vigo manager. He only spent a year there but managed to guide them to a 9th place finish in the league. That was enough to convince Barcelona to hire him, and they made the right decision.
In his first season, he won the treble and retained the league title in the following year. But he left in 2017 and took hold of the Spanish national team in 2018 before leaving that job and returning in the same capacity in 2019.
Hence, The former Spanish international has a lot of experience in the dug-out and is now being targeted by Man United. The Red Devils have their fair share of managerial problems with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Norwegian is yet to get his team firing on all fronts and has had a poor start to the campaign. In fact, the board have already decided to set a plan in motion for his replacement.

Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers remains the frontrunner, but his contract issues at the King Power are proving to be a stumbling block.
The Old Trafford outfit are considering Enrique as an option despite his potential willingness to lead Spain to the 2022 World Cup. The 51-year-old would be a great appointment unless United remain adamant about hiring a Premier League seasoned manager like Rodgers.
