Ole Gunnar Solskjaer brings in six Manchester United academy players to first-team training ahead of Watford game
According to the Manchester Evening News, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer invited six Manchester United academy players to first-team training on Tuesday ahead of their trip to Watford.
The Red Devils have not enjoyed a good start to the season. The manager does not look comfortable with the size of the squad, and several players are lacking game-time. The selection choices have often been poor, and we have paid heavily for those mistakes.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be facing the sack soon, possibly before he completes his three-year reign at the club in December. There has been a lot of criticism about his tactical acumen but the club have often backed him.
However, one thing that the gaffer can be credited with is the promotion of youngsters. Despite the ups and downs, the Norwegian has been willing to give chances to academy players.
Mason Greenwood, Axel Tuanzebe, Brandon Williams, Shola Shoretire, Anthony Elanga, and a couple of others have featured in the league for United. The 48-year-old did something similar recently, as he invited six youngsters to the first-team training session.
Hannibal Mejbri and Charlie McNeil were pictured in the session on Tuesday morning. The duo of Teden Mengi and Alvaro Fernandez were also present, with the former captaining the U-23 side this season.

Youth goalkeepers Dermot Mee and Radek Vitek were also present alongside Amad Diallo, who is recovering from an injury. This is a great chance for the youngsters to impress, especially if they go toe-to-toe with the senior players.
United play Watford on Saturday but it is unlikely that any of these starlets. The Old Trafford outfit sits 6th in the league table and will be hoping to turn things around for good on the weekend.
