Transfer News: AC Milan star Franck Kessie ‘delighted’ with Manchester United interest
According to transfer news on Sky Italy and Fichajes (h/t Manchester Evening News), AC Milan star Franck Kessie is delighted with the interest Manchester United have shown in him amidst a potential move.
The box-to-box midfielder has been crucial to the Rossoneri since joining them in 2017. He is set to complete 200 appearances for them soon and has been a loyal servant at the club. But it looks like Milan and Kessie are set to go their separate ways due to a contract standstill.
The Ivorian international is in the final year of his current deal at the club and shall be a free agent next summer. The player is demanding a salary worth €9million-per-year, but the Italian club is not ready to pay that amount.
They are ready to go as far as €6-6.5million, but that might not cut it for the player. Thus, it looks like a move is on the cards, and several clubs are interested in securing his services.
Liverpool and Arsenal are possible options, as are Man United. The Red Devils do have a few complications in the midfield line, and they might need the addition of another player in the centre of the pitch.
Paul Pogba shall depart Old Trafford unless he signs a new deal by the end of the season. Donny van de Beek has suffered for game-time and could leave in January. Nemanja Matic is ageing and shall be in the final year of his deal next summer.

Thus, Kessie might be needed at the theatre of dreams. Moreover, United have received a boost as the player is ‘delighted’ with their interest in him. This could help them beat their arch-rivals to his signature and not strengthen a direct rival.
Our midfield line needs a player that is primed to hit his peak soon. The 24-year-old ticks the boxes, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could do with a fresh addition in the coming transfer windows.
