Marcus Rashford returned to Manchester United training after withdrawing from England squad
According to the Daily Mail (h/t The Sun), Marcus Rashford returned to Manchester United training recently after withdrawing from the England squad earlier this week.
The 24-year-old was a crucial player for the Red Devils last campaign, having made nearly 60 appearances across all competitions. The winger also went on to feature for the Three Lions during the European Championship.
The academy graduate later underwent shoulder surgery. To ensure a quick recovery, the Englishman underwent triple training sessions. Rashford finally made his first appearance of the season against Leicester City. To the club’s delight, he scored against the Foxes before doing the same against Atalanta later in the week.
The attacker also found the back of the net in the 3-0 rout of Tottenham Hotspur at the end of last month. However, he was ineffective in the away leg against Atalanta and against Man City at Old Trafford.
Gareth Southgate called him up for the World Cup qualifiers this month, but the English international withdrew from the squad. On Tuesday, he picked up his MBE at Windsor Castle but did not rest on his laurels after that.
Rashford returned to training to boost his fitness levels ahead of featuring for United next week. Luke Shaw, who also withdrew from the national squad due to a head concussion, joined his teammate in training.
