Brazilian forward Vinicius Jr supposedly turned down a mega offer from Manchester United to stay at Real Madrid
According to El Nacional (h/t The Hard Tackle), Real Madrid youngster Vinicius Jr has turned down a bumper offer from Manchester United to stay at Real Madrid.
The 21-year-old has been grabbing eyeballs this season with his splendid performances. The Brazilian is currently enjoying his best season so far with the La Liga club. He has scored 9 goals and provided 7 assists in 16 matches across all competitions for Los Blancos this season.
He has struck up a great partnership with Karim Benzema up front and the duo have flourished together. It is believed that the Red Devils were willing to offer Vinicius Jr €16 million in annual wages but the youngster has rebuffed this offer to extend his stay at the Bernabeu.
Man United have invested heavily to bring stellar attacking reinforcements to the club with Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo being the latest entrants. They boast of an enviable squad but have found it tough to get going this season. They have struggled to maintain a tight ship at the back along with their inability to open up defences while playing against some of the bigger clubs like Manchester City and Liverpool.
The Red Devils have struggled to maintain their consistency this season and it has brought a lot of pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. A young exciting forward could help bolster their already stellar attacking lineup. The former Flamengo player has shown real signs of class and could be the future of the Spanish giants. It is also believed that the Brazilian forward wants to sign a new contract with the La Liga club which could include a humongous release clause of €1 billion.
Dani Alves even went on to label him as the best young player in an interview with Business Insider (h/t Daily Mail) back in 2019. His current performances at such a young age are certainly meriting these claims.

Ole has tried to tweak the formation here and there but there seems to be a lack of identity with this current group of players. After some devastating results, the Man United faithful will be hoping that their current crop of players can pull up their socks and provide more favourable results in the matches to come. At the moment it seems highly unlikely that Vinicius Jr would want a change of scenery keeping in mind the stature of Real Madrid and his current form.
