Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford bestowed with MBE after role in the campaign to feed children
According to Evening Standard, Manchester United attacker, Marcus Rashford will be honoured with the MBE by Prince William for helping support vulnerable children last summer.
Rashford used his reach and fame in good light and launched a campaign that tried to ensure that no child would have to be hungry during the uncertainty caused by the Covid pandemic. His continued fight and resolve forced the Boris Johnson-led government to take a U-Turn on the whole free school meals vouchers amidst the lockdown.
The 24-year-old forward has been struggling this season and is yet to come back to full match fitness. He even opted out of the England squad for the upcoming qualifier to stay back and regain match fitness. The English international has primarily been used as a substitute by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season. Fellow teammate Luke Shaw is also currently unavailable for the England squad after picking up a head injury in their last Premier League fixture against Manchester City.
