Manchester United duo Jadon Sancho and Jesse Lingard could be axed from the England squad by Gareth Southgate
According to Daily Mail, Manchester United duo, Jadon Sancho and Jesse Lingard could be axed from the England squad by Gareth Southgate.
Lingard has suffered for game-time at Old Trafford this season, something that felt the inevitable after he decided to stay at the theatre of dreams over the summer. However, he has had a puzzling journey.
While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team have been free-flowing in the attacking phase of the game, they have needed the English midfielder to come off the bench to save them from drawing or losing games. The 28-year-old’s impact was clear after he scored a winner against West Ham in September before assisting Cristiano Ronaldo for the winner against Villarreal.
Despite all of this, the Norwegian boss has not deemed the attacking midfielder worthy of starting the games. Sancho, on the other hand, is somebody who is failing to live up to his hype.
The former Borussia Dortmund man came with a lot of aplomb and a big price tag (£73million). Although he has been afforded chances by the gaffer, he has not taken them, and it looks like he is yet to gel with his teammates and settle properly into the squad.
However, both players were selected by Southgate during the international break last month. But that may not be the case anymore as several stars are now available for selection again.

The Man United duo are in a state of worry and could be left out of the national squad for the games against Estonia & San Marino. Thus, this is not a promising affair for them, especially with the World Cup just 12 months away, and unless they get increased game-time over the next year, Southgate is not going to pull any favours to get them in.
