Manchester United star Raphael Varane celebrates victory against Tottenham Hotspur
As per the player’s official Twitter account (h/t ManUtd.com), Manchester United ace Raphael Varane celebrated the victory against Tottenham Hotspur and claims that is the response they wanted to show.
The Red Devils picked up a sensational away victory against Spurs on Saturday evening as United scored three goals without conceding any. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was facing a lot of pressure after losing heavily to Liverpool and his side responded well.
He picked a team of gladiators as the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani performed like their experienced selves and ensured all three points for the side. The defence was also brilliant on the day as they kept only their second clean sheet of the season across all competitions, with the first one coming back in late August against Wolves.
Raphael Varane, who had picked up an injury during international duty with France, missed the games against Leicester City, Atalanta and Liverpool. However, he made a return against Tottenham and immediately gelled in a back three with Harry Maguire & Victor Lindelof.
The Frenchman also commanded the backline brilliantly and completely neutralized the threat of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura, and Giovani Lo Celso.
After the final whistle, the celebrations started amongst the United players. There was a sense of relief in this, as such a performance was needed to send a message to the rest of the league that the club still hold the ability to produce such displays.
