Sir Alex Ferguson Mauricio Pochettino as his preferred choice to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United
According to the Daily Mail (h/t The Express), Sir Alex Ferguson has earmarked Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino as the potential replacement for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United should the Norwegian be sacked.
The 13-time Premier League champions picked up a victory against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday night in what seemed like one of the most convincing performances under Solskjaer this season.
However, before the game, the Norwegian was under a lot of pressure after picking up only one point out of four league games. While it would be foolish to say he is now secure, the win against Spurs is a step in the right direction.
Despite topping their Champions League group, United have been far from convincing. The 48-year-old could still face the sack with poor results against Atalanta and Manchester City in the upcoming week.
It is, however, thought that former United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, wants Mauricio Pochettino to replace Solskjaer at the helm should the Norwegian be sacked. The Argentine is currently plying his trade at PSG and is managing superstars like Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Neymar Jr.
However, it is thought that some of the French club’s players are ‘underwhelmed’ at the efforts of the former Tottenham boss. Although Pochettino is yet to create his footprint at the French capital, a return to England could work out well.

The 49-year-old transformed Spurs into a Champions League side during his 5-season stint at the North London outfit and also guided them to the final against Liverpool in 2019.
Given the star-studded squad at Old Trafford and the willingness to spend on players, the Argentinian could create a real impact given the opportunity. However, for the while, Solskjaer still has the backing of the United board as he looks to make a title push this season.
