Manchester United consider Conte, Zidane, and Rodgers as possible replacements for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

According to The Mirror (h/t Sports Mole), Manchester United have a three-man shortlist, including Antonio Conte, Zinedine Zidane, and Brendan Rodgers, to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Solskjaer is currently on thin ice at Old Trafford after suffering a 5-0 defeat to their biggest rivals in the game. The Norwegian was supposed to march on and compete for the biggest titles this season, and while it did look possible after the first two months, October has not been kind to the 48-year-old.

A draw to Everton, a loss to Leicester, and a defeat to Liverpool has put the club out of the Top 6. Thus, candidates to replace the manager are now being plotted, with Antonio Conte, Zinedine Zidane and Brendan Rodgers in the three-man list.

Conte led Inter Milan to Serie A glory last season as he broke the monopoly of Juventus in Italian football after a decade long reign. He later left them at the start of this season.

Zidane left Real Madrid in 2018 after guiding them to three successive Champions League triumphs. He returned in 2019 and guided the club to a La Liga title before leaving the Spanish capital again this summer. Thus, both Conte and Zidane are currently out of work.

However, Rodgers is currently leading an exciting project at the King Power with Leicester City as they secured Top 6 finishes in the last two seasons and lifted the FA Cup last season. It is said that the former Liverpool manager has been a long term target for the Red Devils.

Thus, with the pressure piling on Solskjaer at Old Trafford, plans are already being made for the future, and big decisions will have to be made in the coming weeks.

Regardless, it remains to be seen whether either manager is open to joining the 13-time Premier League champions, especially mid-way through the season.
