Transfer News: Sevilla star Jules Kounde interested in move to Manchester United
According to the latest transfer news on El Nacional (h/t Sport Witness), Sevilla star Jules Kounde has instructed his agent to negotiate for a move to Manchester United.
The 22-year-old has been a rock at the back for the Spanish outfit in the last two seasons and also had an incredible UEFA Nations League tournament recently with France.
The defender was touted for a move to Chelsea this season, but the La Liga club rejected any advances. Real Madrid have also been keen on the centre-back, but it is thought that the Frenchman does not ‘trust’ Carlo Ancelotti, as he has played David Alaba in the centre-back role alongside Eder Militao.
Kounde apparently wants to join a club where he will play regularly, as he wants to make the France squad for the 2022 World Cup. This, in turn, has now put United in pole position to secure his signature and they have also been deemed to go ‘crazy’ for him.
It is said that the Old Trafford outfit firmly believe that a centre-back pairing consisting of Raphael Varane and Jules Kounde would be ‘unbeatable’.
They are also apparently ready to make a ‘strong bid’ for the defender after falling out of the race to sign him this summer as they felt that he would join Chelsea.

Sevilla have also made their peace with the fact that French international would have to leave the club at some point, but director Monchi is pleased with the interest as he is hoping to churn out a transfer fee in the region of €90million for their prized asset.
However, with United having spent a similar amount on Harry Maguire a couple of seasons ago, it remains to be seen whether they would actually shell out the big bucks again to secure a move for Kounde.
