Gary Neville pleased with the performance of Manchester United ace Jadon Sancho against Everton
Speaking on his Sky Sports podcast (h/t Metro), Gary Neville has explained how he was delighted with the performance of Manchester United ace Jadon Sancho against Everton.
The 21-year-old has gone through a rough start at Old Trafford since making his £73million move from Borussia Dortmund. The youngster was a highly-rated talent at Manchester City and later went on and honed his skills at Borussia Dortmund.
While United’s investment in the individual is a sound one, the Englishman is yet to repay the dividend on it. So far, Sancho has featured in all but one game for the club this season but has failed to produce a single-goal contribution.
Despite producing a fairly decent performance against Villarreal in mid-week, the youngster was benched on the weekend against Everton. However, he was later called off the bench as a part of the cavalry to rescue the game. While he did not manage to do so, Gary Neville was pleased with the 21-year-old’s performance on the day.
Neville explained on his Sky Sports podcast (h/t Metro):
‘You come away from that game, and everyone was disappointed, but I thought Jadon Sancho gave his best 20-minute performance in a Manchester United shirt.
‘I thought that was the one big positive from the match. But I thought he did really well after coming on yesterday, and we saw glimpses of his ability, little passes with Ronaldo, and stuff like that…He will go into the international break with a little bit of confidence, and it will send him off in a happier mood than if he hadn’t featured against Everton.’

Given that the Manchester-based club are set to enter a tough run of fixtures post the international break, the Englishman’s return to form is a timely one. However, for now, Sancho will focus on his duties for the national team as the Three Lions look to confirm their place in next year’s World Cup.
