Manchester United eyeing new transfer as scouts were sent scouts in Lisbon
According to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo (h/t Express ), Manchester United sent their scouts to Lisbon for Benfica’s game against Boa Vista.
The Red Devils have always had a keen interest in the Portuguese market since securing a move for Cristiano Ronaldo from Sporting Lisbon back in 2003. The club have also signed the likes of Nani, Anderson, Victor Lindelof, Bruno Fernandes, and Diogo Dalot from first division clubs of the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
Thus, something similar happened on Monday when the club’s scouts were present at a game between Benfica and Boa Vista, which the former ended up winning 3-1. While it is known that they were present there, it remains to be seen who the Old Trafford outfit were scouting.
Moreover, they were not the only club present at the game. Championship side Blackburn Rovers, Spanish outfit Sevilla, and Serie A clubs Torino and Inter Milan were also hovering around but there is very little known on who the clubs were eyeing.
Regardless, it was Darwin Nunez who stole the limelight on the day with his two goals, while Nicolas Otamendi, Lucas Verissimo, and Julian Weigl also impressed on the night with the latter also nicking in a goal, as per Sport Witness (h/t Express).
The Red Devils were busy in the transfer market this summer as well as they swooped up the likes of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, and club legend Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus.
