Manchester United starlet Willy Kambwala returns to action after long-term injury

Manchester United youngster Willy Kambwala is back from injury 

According to the official Instagram account of Manchester United ace Willy Kambwala (h/t United in Focus), the youngster is delighted with his return to action after suffering a dragged-out injury process.

The United starlet made the move to Old Trafford at the start of last season from second-tier French side Sochaux for £3.6million, as per RMC (h/t United in Focus). Although he made a promising first start in the U-18 side of the club, Kambwala suffered an injury and was out of action until last weekend.

The youngster featured in the club’s 8-2 demolition of Birmingham City as he played the last 20 minutes of the game. He later posted a picture on his official Instagram account expressing his delight to be back playing for the club.

Kambwala is certainly a great talent and has also featured for the France national team at the youth level. Primarily a centre-back, he used to play for the U-19 side of Sochaux before he signed for the Manchester-based club.

If Kambwala can put his head down and develop well, he could certainly move through United’s ranks and perhaps even feature for the senior team someday. Ole Gunnar Solskajer has always been open to giving the youth an opportunity at the club and to hone their talent in the process. 

Over the last two and a half years, the likes of Teden Mengi, Mason Greenwood, Axel Tuanzebe, Brandon Williams, Ethan Laird, Anthony Elanga, Amad Diallo, and a few others have been provided opportunities in the first team by the Norwegian.

Moreover, most of United’s centre-backs are either 28 or will turn that age next year, thus, a youthful approach might be needed in the future in the centre-back options.
