Transfer News: Manchester United are weighing up a move for Nicolas de la Cruz

According to transfer news from Fichajes.net (h/t Caught Offside), Manchester United are eyeing a deal for River Plate midfielder Nicolas de la Cruz.

The Red Devils, who added the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane, and Tom Heaton to the squad this summer, could already be planning for further additions to the team.

Nicolas de la Cruz is one of the players being eyed by the Old Trafford outfit, and a deal could be executed if Paul Pogba is to leave the club. The Frenchman has entered the final year of his deal and although he has started the season in good form, an extension is yet to be agreed upon between the concerned parties.

Nicolas joined River Plate in the summer of 2017 as a 20-year-old and has since been a consistent member of the Argentinian outfit. In the last four years, the Uruguayan has managed to make 130 appearances for the club and has also scored 23 goals and provided a further 29 assists in the process.

Thus, the 24-year-old has substantial first-team experience, and he could prove to be a very useful addition to United’s ranks.

However, securing the midfielder’s signature will not be an easy deal as the River Plate man is also being eyed by the La Liga duo of Atletico Madrid and Sevilla, according to Fichajes.net (h/t Caught Offside).

The Uruguayan is said to be on Sevilla director Monchi’s radar for a long time, and a move in January could also be possible.

Thus, the Red Devils will only have to make a quick decision on their attempts to sign the midfielder as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to strengthen the club in all the areas on the pitch.
