Arsenal are ready to swoop in for Manchester United ace Donny van de Beek
According to Todofichajes (h/t The Express), Arsenal are ready to provide a ‘way out’ for Manchester United ace Donny van de Beek in January.
The Dutchman, who has failed to start a single Premier League game until now, started for the club in their Group stage Champions League clash against Young Boys.
However, Aaron wan-Bissaka’s red-card after just half an hour changed the complexion of the game and the 24-year-old midfielder was hooked off at half-time as Solskjaer opted for a more defensive approach of the game.
Thus, Van de Beek continues to suffer for game-time, something he did a lot of during last season. The Dutch international joined United in a move worth £40million from Ajax in September last year, and although there was a lot of optimism around his move, things have not quite panned out the way the midfielder would have wanted them to.
Although the 24-year-old did manage to make 36 appearances across all competitions last season, most of them were off the bench as he racked up less than 1500 minutes on the pitch.
It has been evident that he is not in Solskjaer’s strongest starting XI and a move to Everton was actually on the cards on deadline day. However, a deal failed to materialize and he is still with the first team for the current season.

It is said that the Dutchman could be available for a fee in the range of £25million, and Arsenal are said to be ready to prepare a January swoop for the player. Mikel Arteta’s side could be a team where van de Beek doesn’t have to compete a lot for playing time.
While there have not been any concrete talks as of yet, a move in January for the central midfielder certainly cannot be ruled out. As for his career at United, it doesn’t look very bright, especially after his showing against Young Boys.
