Manchester United target Declan Rice seeking to leave West Ham United following a dissapointing summer
According to Eurosport (h/t Daily Star), Manchester United have been handed a massive boost in their pursuit of West Ham United star Declan Rice.
The English international is one of the Hammers’ best players and is steadily emerging as a reliable tour de force in the Premier League. He was linked with a move away this summer but West Ham’s massive £100m asking price proved to be a bridge too far.
A number of sides such as Chelsea and Liverpool were linked with the player. Rice was keen to assess his options but West Ham were not ready to play ball.
According to the report, Rice has grown disillusioned with life at West Ham who had a rather underwhelming summer transfer window. It goes on to add that the youngster sees the 2021/22 campaign as his final one at the London Stadium.
Rice appears to be ready to make a move up north. It could very well come down to a direct face between us and Liverpool for the midfielder.
Chelsea who were also keen on the player signed Saul Niguez on loan this summer and could make the move permanent next year. The Blues are now eyeing alternatives and have been linked with Monaco star Aurelian Tchouameni.
This is good news for United who may now be able to take the initiative in the efforts to land Rice. The Red Devils are keen to bring in a new midfielder and a striker next summer. According to Manchester Evening News, Rice is at the top of United’s wishlist. Whether we will go all in to land him remains to be seen.
