Cristiano Ronaldo might not make his second full Manchester United debut against Newcastle United

According to Metro, Manchester United fans may have to settle for Cristiano Ronaldo to start on the bench against Newcastle United this weekend.

The Red Devils welcome the Magpies for their second home game of the season following the international break. However, the game appears to have come too soon for the 36-year-old Portuguese international.

Ronaldo returned to the UK following his heroics for Portugal against Ireland. Rather than take to the field immediately, he had to undergo five days of isolation at home in Cheshire thanks to Covid protocols.

Ronaldo is a massive signing fir Manchester United.

This leaves him with just one day to train with his new teammates ahead of the weekend’s clash. It remains to be seen if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be convinced enough in the brief session to start the footballing legend.

Even without Ronaldo, United should have enough in their tank to see off a Magpies side that is far from formidable. Mason Greenwood is in top form and with Jadon Sancho yet to fire all cylinders, there is much for United fans to be excited about.

Whether the 36-year-old will make the bench or be left out completely remains to be seen.

It is fair to say that expectations are sky-high for Ronaldo. Despite his age, he remains one of the best players in the world and is yet to be dethroned from his pantheon. There is little to suggest he won’t begin his second coming to the Theatre of Dreams with a bang.
