Transfer News: Paul Pogba refuses to comment on Manchester United future
According to an interview on TV2 in Norway (h/t Sport Witness), Paul Pogba has insisted that he is happy at Manchester United despite transfer news regarding his future.
The 28-year-old has suffered a topsy turvy future at the club over the summer and was close to sealing a move to PSG last month. However, the French outfit disagreed with the Red Devils on their valuation of the central midfielder.
The Parisians also focused their attention on Argentine legend Lionel Messi and prioritized getting the Barcelona forward at the club before making a move for anybody else.
The French club do have the option of signing the player on a free transfer next summer as the midfielder has entered into the final year of his contract. The 28-year-old refused a contract extension earlier this summer, courtesy of which he was asked about his future by TV2 in Norway (h/t Sport Witness) before the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday. Pogba responded, saying:
“To be honest, I am very happy, I enjoy myself. The Premier League is back, I play football again after a nice holiday, so it is very, very good. I’m happy. To be honest, I’m glad I’m feeling good. I’m healthy, I have no injuries and I’m happy, even if I would have preferred to win the last game [against Southampton]. It’s all about winning.”
To the French international’s credit, he did return on time to United’s pre-season camp and also featured in the last pre-season game of the campaign against Everton.

The 28-year-old has also started the campaign in incredible form as he bagged 4 assists in the season opener against Leeds United, while he also assisted the equalizer against Southampton last weekend.
Although he has insisted that he is happy, it remains to be seen where Pogba will be playing his football next summer.
