Jesse Lingard could be on his way out of Manchester United
According to an interview done by transfer expert Dean Jones on the Football Terrace Podcast (h/t The Express), Manchester United ace Jesse Lingard is ‘likely’ to make a move to West Ham United this week.
The 28-year-old, who was a consistent figure in United’s squad in the Jose Mourinho era, failed to feature regularly for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last season and opted for a loan move to West Ham United for the second half of the season.
The Englishman was incredible for the Hammers as he made 16 appearances for the club and managed to score 9 goals and provide assists in the process. Moreover, he also helped the club secure a 6th place finish, ensuring European qualification.
Thus, the Hammers now want the player back into their ranks, and it looks like a move is likely to go through this week, according to an interview done by Dean Jones on the Football Terrace Podcast (h/t The Express).
Although United initially rejected any advances made by the London club towards the 28-year-old, they could now be open to the idea of letting the player leave if it means that they can get his £100,000-wages-per-week off the books.
Moreover, given that United already have the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood, and Edinson Cavani in their ranks, Lingard might not feature for the club as often as he might like.

Additionally, if Lingard does leave the club, it could help the Old Trafford outfit financially to some extent if they decide to chase some of its other summer transfer targets, namely Saul Niguez, Eduardo Camavinga, Kieran Trippier, Ruben Neves, and several others.
Thus, in a move that could benefit all the parties concerned, United might not mind letting the player leave before the end of the summer transfer window.
