Transfer News: Manchester United could still make a move for Ruben Neves

According to an interview done by Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on the YouTube channel of The United Stand (h/t Stretty News), Manchester United could make a move for Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves before the end of the month.

The Red Devils, who have signed the likes of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane this summer, could strengthen in the centre of the pitch as they are keen on bolstering their midfield depth.

Although the club do possess players like Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, Fred, Nemanja Matic, a player like Ruben Neves could add a lot of quality, while his versatility of playing anywhere in the midfield line would make him a valuable addition.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano was asked about United making a move for Neves on the YouTube channel of the United stand (h/t Stretty News), to which the Italian replied:

“It depends on the outgoings. He is one of the players on the list, yes, he’s always been one of the players on the list”.

Romano also pointed out that the Portuguese is currently not a priority for the Manchester-based club, but they could orchestrate a potential move for the player if some outgoings do take place.

“They like Ruben Neves, but he’s not a priority, to be honest. So, if some players leave, he could be one of the names.

Apart from the Portuguese, United are also said to be considering a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez. While there is no certainty about the Old Trafford outfit signing another player, if a move had to take place, the club will have to move fast as the transfer window will be shut in a week.
