Manchester United are preparing a bid for Barcelona’s Antoine Griezmann
According to Todofichajes (h/t The Sun), Manchester United are preparing to make a bid for Antoine Griezmann this summer with Barcelona willing to sell the player.
The Red Devils, who have completed the £73million transfer of Jadon Sancho and the soon to be confirmed £42million move of Raphael Varane, were tipped to make a third significant signing this summer, and they now might be on the precipice of doing so.
Barcelona, who are keen on balancing their books this summer, are willing to let Griezmann leave this summer since the Frenchman is pocketing nearly £32million in wages. The forward is also said to be keen on leaving the Catalonian club, especially after the fans booed him when he arrived at the club’s training ground post-Lionel Messi’s departure.
Manchester United are aware of these issues and are thus planning on making a low bid for the player, according to Todofichajes (h/t The Sun).
Manchester United have been keen on signing a centre-forward to bolster their attacking options. Although the club were targeting Erling Haaland this summer, the Norwegian’s £150million price tag has put off most suitors from signing him.
Additionally, United are also willing to let go of Anthony Martial this summer, with Inter Milan interested in signing the player. This could create a vacancy in the squad as well as in the wage bill and could pave the way for the Red Devils to sign Griezmann this summer.
