The Red Devils, who have completed the £73million signing of Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and the soon to be confirmed £42million signing of Varane, are still in the market for a central midfielder and a full-back. The Red Devils are targeting Eduardo Camavinga while they do have their eyes on Kieran Trippier for the latter role.

Speaking to ITV (h/t The Metro), Roy Keane mentioned how United have done good business this summer. He said:

“They are two very good signings, particularly Varane with his experience and the problems at the back. Sancho, a young, talented player who did well in Germany”.

However, Keane reiterated United’s need for a couple of more signings.

“But I still think with what Man City have done and Chelsea [signing] Lukaku, Man United still need one or two into the group to really challenge this season.”

Manchester City have signed Jack Grealish and are still in the market to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham, while Chelsea are also close to completing a deal for former Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku.

While United do have a bunch of options in the forward line, namely Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial, and Mason Greenwood, that may not be the case beyond the summer.

The Red Devils are willing to let go of Martial this summer, while Marcus Rashford will also be out with a shoulder injury until October. Additionally, Edinson Cavani’s contract will be up next summer while Mason Greenwood might be considered a little young to lead United’s attack.

Thus, United may still need to make a couple of more additions before the end of the transfer window. And, it remains to be seen whether they will sign a marquee player this summer.
