Bruno Fernandes urges Manchester United teammates to perform well in last pre-season game against Everton
In an interview with the official MUFC website (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has talked about the importance of their last pre-season friendly against Everton on Saturday at Old Trafford.
Fernandes, like his fellow teammates who participated in the international competitions this summer, has only just returned to training with the club. However, Ole Gunnar Solskajer and co. have continued to put the hard yards north of the border.
After the club’s three pre-season friendlies against Queens Park Rangers, Brentford, and Derby County, the Red Devils are set to face the likes of Everton in what could be the toughest game of their pre-season campaign.
Speaking to the official website (h/t Manchester Evening News), Fernandes said:
“The standard of Everton is really high. After that, there is one week before we start. It will be good to have a last test against a Premier League club with high standards and really good, quality players.”
However, Fernandes also stressed the importance of winning the game against Everton on Saturday.
“With this game, it’s about performing well and getting some minutes in the legs. We want to win the game, but the result will not be the most important thing. At the same time, though, we want to win.”
Fernandes, who joined Manchester United in January 2019, has already lost an FA Cup semi-final and a Europa League final. Thus, the Portuguese would be keen on winning some trophies with the Red Devils this season.

Moreover, with the combined £107million arrivals of Jadon Sancho and the soon-to-be confirmed Raphael Varane, this could be United’s chance to win their first Premier League title since 2013.
However, Solskjaer’s attention would now be on United’s last pre-season friendly against Everton as he would be looking to provide some valuable minutes to his first-team stars.
