Manchester United demand €5m loan fee for AC Milan target Diogo Dalot

According to Sempre Milan, AC Milan have deemed the loan fee Manchester United are asking for Diogo Dalot as excessive. That could point the club towards alternatives such as Alvaro Odriozola if no resolution is found. United, for their part, are looking to get €5million as a loan fee for Dalot.

Once seen as a bright young prospect at Porto, Dalot has not developed in the way Manchester United hoped he would. However, it’ is not entirely his fault as United assigned Aaron Wan-Bissaka and the former Crystal Palace man has made the right-back spot his own with some tenacious defending.

Dalot had to go out on loan to AC Milan last season in search of regular football. He went on to feature quite a lot for Milan as they finished second in Serie A and made it deep into the Europa League as well. The Portuguese youngster was used on both flanks to decent effect.

Nonetheless, Dalot could be back on the move again as United want to sign Kieran Trippier. AC Milan have shown some keenness in bringing back the player on loan. However, United are said to be asking for a rather high loan fee of €5million. That is said to have dissuaded Milan and they could now look at alternatives such as Alvaro Odriozola.

Given United are looking at Trippier, United are clearly not planning to keep Dalot. They might as well let Dalot leave for AC Milan. For that, they will need to reduce that loan fee because Milan do have alternatives and could move towards them instead of the Portuguese.
