According to Metro, Manchester United have handed new contracts to three of their academy stars. Joe Hugill, Charlie McNeill and Paul Woolston were tied down to new contracts as United look to secure the futures of their brightest talents.

Manchester United are getting their off-field business done and dusted early in the season before the action begins. Two players have been officially signed, with a deal for Raphael Varane on the way. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also been handed a new deal.

However, United have not forgotten their academy, which is a huge source of pride for them. Last season saw the likes of Shola Shoretire step up from the academy. United have a few more names that are making the mark and new deals have been handed to them.

Charlie McNeill and Joe Hugill are two names United fans are perhaps more familiar with. Hugill has been playing in the first-team during the preseason while McNeill is someone who has lit up the youth games since joining from City. Woolston is another academy keeper who extended his stay by a year.
