Transfer News: Manchester United willing to sell eight players

According to transfer news from Express, Manchester United are looking to offload eight players in a bid to raise cash. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is claimed to have been given £100m to spend on transfers. However, the Sancho deal ate up three-quarters of it with Varane set to arrive soon. Due to that, eight players will be allowed to leave to raise more money.

Manchester United have been the busiest big Premier League club in the transfer window. Jadon Sancho was recently announced in a big-money deal. United are still said to be working on a few more names. A deal that appears to be rather close is that of Varane.

Those two names have already eaten up the initial funding Solskjaer was handed and now players must be sold in a bid to raise money. Jesse Lingard is arguably United’s biggest sellable asset and could be offloaded. Patience is wearing thin with Anthony Martial and he too could make way. Returning from a loan spell at Lazio, Andreas Pereira still finds himself on the fringes and will likely be sold. (h/t Express)

The full-back trio of Brandon Williams, Diogo Dalot and Alex Telles could also be sold or loaned out. Forgotten man Phil Jones could make way after a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Daniel James is another name that could be on the chopping block. There is also the trio of David de Gea, Dean Henderson and Paul Pogba and one of them could be looking at the exit door.

It is understandable that United would want to let go of those names. However, players such as Pogba, Henderson and Telles should be kept at all costs. United would do well to get the others off their books, which will give them some cash for further transfers.
