Manchester United full-back Alex Telles in good spirits despite latest injury
Alex Telles suffered an injury for Manchester United, which led him to miss their pre-season friendly against QPR, and he has now sent a message to fans on his Instagram account.
The Brazilian left-back featured in United’s 2-1 friendly win over Derby County and was with the team, training in their camp at Surrey. However, he was absent from United’s squad against QPR, and Solskjaer revealed why in his pre-match interview.
“Unfortunately, Alex slipped and he twisted his ankle so he’ll be out for a few weeks. We’re hoping that it’s not going to be too bad but he’ll be out for a little while.”
The report by the official website mentions that the 28-year-old is likely to miss next week’s friendlies against Brentford at Old Trafford, and the away trip to Preston North End.
Telles remains positive
But that hasn’t deterred Telles’ positive spirit ahead of the new season that lies ahead. He posted a photo of himself on his Instagram account in the gym and sent a bellicose message to the fans.
“Nothing happens by chance, nothing comes to bring us down, but to make us evolve and mature. Thanks for everyone’s messages. 🙌🏻 You can be sure that I’ll come back stronger and even more focused. The change in me will be big. Wait for it. 🔥♥️🎯🙏🏽”
As visible in the photo above, the post drew a positive response from his teammates Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes. Dalot, like Telles, played for FC Porto before his move to Old Trafford.
And Fernandes, of course, was the talisman for Sporting CP until he signed for the Red Devils in January 2020. From Solskjaer’s comments and the Telles’ caption, it appears that he can be out for a while.
