Transfer News: Raphael Varane expected to join Manchester United

According to transfer news from Express, Raphael Varane is expected to join Manchester United. The Real Madrid defender will likely become United’s second statement signing of the summer after Jadon Sancho.

These are optimistic times for Manchester United in the transfer window. Tom Heaton has already been signed while Jadon Sancho was unveiled as a Manchester United player. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was also handed a new long-term deal, which shows the board’s faith in him.

One more deal that United have kept in the works is that of Raphael Varane. Real are in a bit of a spot, with Varane in the last year of his current deal. They will have to sell him this summer or lose him for free next year. United are hoping to take advantage of the same and sign the player they have kept an eye on for a while.

Nonetheless, there is a degree of positivity around this deal. Varane is expected to be United’s second big signing after Jadon Sancho. It would help United’s climb back up to the summit of European football, something that has eluded them for a while now.
