Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provides latest Marcus Rashford injury news
Speaking in an interview (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer mentioned that the club is still assessing the best option for the shoulder injury sustained by Marcus Rashford.
The Englishman has been carrying the shoulder issue since the first half of the 2020/21 season. Surgery is expected towards the end of this month, with Rashford also encountering an ankle injury towards last season. (h/t Manchester Evening News)
Rashford is currently on holiday after a roller-coaster Euros campaign with the England national team. The Manchester United winger did not see much action at the tournament but did make substitute appearances.
One of those came in the final against Italy when he was brought on along with Jadon Sancho. The duo missed their penalty kicks in the resulting shoot-out to hand the Italians their first Euro title in 53 years.
Rashford to get surgery
That, however, is in the past and the focus now shifts to club football. Solskjaer, in that regard, has said that the best option is being considered for Rashford and the club wants to get the timing of the surgery right.
“We’re looking at the best option, he went away just to reflect on it a little bit and we have to take the best course of action for him and the club. We’re still addressing that (timing) with the experts.”
United kick-off the 2021/22 Premier League season with the Roses rivalry against Leeds United at Old Trafford. It is unclear if Rashford would be available for it considering his potentially upcoming surgery.

But the club signing Jadon Sancho would assuage some worry for fans and affords Rashford the time to be absent for a short period of time without the team feeling too much of a jolt in their attack.
