Manchester United making progress in their pursuit of Eduardo Camavinga
According to the reliable journalist, Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Manchester United are making headway in their efforts to land Rennes midfielder Eduardo Camavinga this summer.
The Red Devils have already landed Jadon Sancho and are now free to focus their attention elsewhere. In Camavinga, they could be getting themselves another youngster who can develop into a world-class player at Old Trafford.
United have already made direct contact and appear to be making progress in their efforts. The 18-year-old is a regular for Rennes and has made 82 appearances, scoring twice and assisting five more for the Ligue 1 side. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Camavinga is also in the final year of his contract at Rennes. The Ligue 1 side appears to be willing to listen to offers worth €30m this summer. They are aware of the weak hand they hold in negotiations and are keen to avoid losing the player on a free next year.
Camavinga has also made his senior bow for the French national team. Quite the feat given the players at Les Bleus’ disposal. There is little doubt that he is a player of vast potential and could emerge into a world-class player in the future.
The Red Devils could potentially lose Paul Pogba this summer and also appear to be willing to part ways with Donny van de Beek. With Nemanja Matic not getting any younger and Fred having his limitations, bringing in Camavinga will add zest in the middle of the park.
Landing Camavinga for the quoted price should be a no-brainer. The 18-year-old could develop into one of the best midfielders in the world in the years to come. Given his upside, what we may pay this summer could prove to be a massive bargain.
United will, however, have to contend with competition from Paris Saint-Germain. The French giants are keen on reclaiming their throne and have already made a number of astute moves this summer. Whether it will soon include Camavinga remains to be seen.

Having missed out on Jude Bellingham last summer, United have identified Camavinga as a better alternative. The Red Devils believe Camavinga is a much better talent and could add him to their ranks this summer. Given the impact Bellingham has had at Borussia Dortmund, that is no small praise.
