Transfer News: Raphael Varane agrees personal terms with Manchester United

According to transfer news from Express, Raphael Varane has agreed on personal terms with Manchester United. The Real Madrid defender could be pocketing £10million a year at United, provided a deal is agreed with them. Varane also wants any possible deal to be completed within the next two weeks, hoping to link up with his new side.

The Red Devils are in need of a new defender and have identified the French international as a priority signing. With his contract set to expire next summer, Real Madrid have a decision to make.

Varane is United’s top defensive target

Varane has been the subject of interest from United for a while now. He has now become a world-class star at Real Madrid. Arguably at his peak, Varane has won all possible trophies with Real Madrid and also the World Cup with France.

In a major development in Manchester United’s pursuit of Varane, the player has agreed on personal terms with United. It would see Varane being handed a wage packet of £10million a year once he joins. Negotiations with Real Madrid are also progressing well but United are not keen on throwing £48m for a player in the last year of his contract. The defender himself is also pushing for a deal and wants a move within the next two weeks.

Things are looking up for United in the pursuit of Varane. Of course, personal terms are just one of the steps and the real challenge would be to agree on a fee with Los Blancos. Varane can be the addition United have needed all these years and now they are ever so close.
