18 Manchester United stars turn up for pre-season training at Carrington
According to the club’s official site, 18 Manchester United players have turned up for training at Carrington ahead of the 2021/22 season.
With a number of players recovering from or still involved in international tournaments, only those who were absent altogether have reported for training. Some of the prominent names pictured were Mason Greenwood, Nemanja Matic, Alex Telles and Axel Tuanzebe.
Young goalkeeper Nathan Bishop, who is set to join Mansfield Town on loan was also in attendance. He was one of the four goalkeepers pictured, others namely Lee Grant, Matej Kovar and the returning Tom Heaton.
Axel Tuanzebe and Brandon Williams, both of whom look likely to leave on loan, were also pictured. Some of the others involved were Ethan Galbraith, Shola Shoretire, Facundo Pellistri and Tahith Chong. Just what opportunities they will be given in the pre-season games to come remains to be seen.
The likes of Scott McTominay, Victor Lindelof and Paul Pogba are all currently on holiday following their exploits at the European Championship. United begin their pre-season with a match against Wayne Rooney’s Derby County on 18 July.
