Transfer News: Manchester United put Diogo Dalot, Eric Bailly and Jesse Lingard up for sale
According to Spanish publication AS (h/t Sports Mole), Manchester United are ready to part ways with the likes of Diogo Dalot, Eric Bailly and Jesse Lingard this summer.
Dalot and Lingard are both coming off loan spells at AC Milan and West Ham United respectively. The former gave a good account of himself while the latter had been sensational, leading the Hammers to a top-six finish.
Neither player has played much under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. While their performances away from Old Trafford have certainly been eye-catching, there is little to suggest that they will be handed an elevated position at United next season.
Another player on the transfer list is Bailly. The Ivorian, who recently penned a new deal, has not ruled out an exit if he is not guaranteed more game time. A solid defender on his day, injuries and a bout of inconsistency have often plagued him at Old Trafford.
With the Red Devils targeting two defensive signings this summer, Bailly, who is behind Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof in the pecking order could drop even lower. One of the players we are interested in is Pau Torres. It remains to be seen if Bailly will be used in part exchange to land the Spanish international. (h/t Manchester Evening News)
With Jadon Sancho already secured, the Red Devils are now focussing their attention elsewhere. It is perhaps to be expected that a number of them would have to make way for the new signings.
It is refreshing to see United go into the window with a sign of intent. A lack of decisiveness has often plagued us in recent windows. Hopefully, this time will turn out to be different.

With Sancho coming in and Bruno Fernandes set for a new contract, United’s wage bill could dramatically increase this summer. It could rise further if Paul Pogba also is offered a lucrative new deal. It is, therefore, imperative that we get the deadwood out of the club and reduce the strain on our finances.
The stock of players such as Lingard has never been higher and it is key that we strike while the iron is hot.
