Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to sign three more players for Manchester United
According to The Guardian, Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to bring three more players to the club this summer.
This comes on the heels of news that the Red Devils have finally landed Jadon Sancho. While the deal is yet to be officially confirmed, it appears to be done in all other aspects. Solskjaer, however, does not appear to be content and is keen to strengthen his squad further.
The Norwegian’s thoughts can be echoed from our inability to get over the line last season. United need more than one player to take the next level and should not be satisfied with just signing Sancho.
According to the report, the Man United boss wants a defensive midfielder, a centre-back and a striker before this summer’s transfer window closes for business. A centre-back appears to be the next priority of the three with Raphael Varane and Pau Torres on the club’s radar. (h/t The Telegraph)
English duo Harry Kane and Declan Rice are also on United’s radar. However, just how much we can spend on them given the Sancho fee remains to be seen. Both players are currently with the Three Lions squad at the Euros.
The catalyst to unleash Sancho?
Another player on United’s radar is Kieran Trippier. However, Atletico Madrid is in no mood to lose him on the cheap and could play spoilsport in our efforts to land him. Adding him alongside Sancho on the right would give our attack a massive boost on the flank.
Signing Sancho alone will not be enough for us to beat the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City next season. The chances however dramatically increase should we land all four players mentioned above. While it makes little sense form aa financial standpoint, one can dream.
