Manchester United fans react as France and Paul Pogba bow out of the Euros
Manchester United star Paul Pogba was amongst those players who was expected to go all the way in this summer’s Euros.
That certainly appeared to be the case when the midfielder’s wonder goal gave the French a 3-1 lead over Switzerland. Two late goals saw the latter finish level in regular time, going on to win the game on penalties.
The Frenchman did however make an error that led to Switzerland’s late equalizer. While he didn’t stand out particularly, Pogba did enjoy a good night and had his moments.
It was the biggest shock of the tournament as the World Champions got eliminated in the round of 16. Pogba, who scored in the shootout, follows fellow Red Devils ace Bruno Fernandes, who suffered his own heartbreak 24 hours earlier.
This makes it two heartbreaking penalty shootout losses in consecutive months for the United star. Hopefully, with more time now to rest and recuperate, he will be in good shape going into the next season.
With France now out, it remains to be seen if United will ramp up their efforts to land Raphael Varane. The defender has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford.
We take a look at how fans reacted to the performance on Twitter.

Paul Pogba (28) deserved so much more – he will be back for Qatar 2022 no doubt – majestic form that sends a message to Europe’s elite in a transfer window where Mino Raiola will be sure to keep things busy.

At least this EURO’s just showed how good Paul Pogba really is, not a single performance below an 8/10 and played against some of the best in the competition.
