Aston Villa enter race for transfer of Manchester United youngster James Garner.

Transfer News: Nottingham Forest among several sides that want James Garner

According to transfer news from Nottinghamshire Live, Manchester United starlet James Garner is the subject of interest from Nottingham Forest and a host of clubs. Brighton, Norwich and Rangers have all shown interest in the young English midfielder.

The 19-year-old was loaned to Watford last summer. He had a brilliant start to life in the Championship as he played in all but one of their opening 19 league games. However, things changed when the Hornets fired manager Vladimir Ivic and appointed Xisco Munoz. Since the Spaniard’s appointment, Garner played just 40 minutes of football.

Manchester United and Watford both agreed to terminate the loan deal. Garner then went to two-time European Cup winners Nottingham Forest on loan for the remainder of the season. Currently, he is back from his loan spell as his future is being evaluated.

Forest have shown considerable interest in getting Garner back on loan. However, they are not the only ones. From the Premier League, Brighton and newly promoted Norwich have shown interest. Also, Rangers have added themselves to the list of suitors.

Nonetheless, it is believed that Manchester United could hand him a chance to impress in pre-season and then take a call. Staying back at United is also an option that is there. However, it probably might be for the best that he heads out somewhere to get regular first-team action.
