Manchester United set to make an improved £73m offer for Jadon Sancho
According to The Guardian, Manchester United are set to make an improved £73m offer for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
The Red Devils have been long-term admirers of the 21-year-old English international. While an agreement is yet to be reached, there certainly appears to be progress in the matter.
Negotiations with Dortmund have been ongoing for several weeks after United refused to match the German club’s valuation last summer. United’s new offer is much closer to the £77.5m that Dortmund is seeking for the player.
According to the report, Sancho has already agreed on personal terms on a five-year deal worth about £350,000 a week. United’s latest offer could tempt Dortmund into doing business for the English ace.
A former Manchester City player, the Sky Blues are believed to be entitled to a 15% sell-on fee for the player. While that is a bitter pill to swallow, we would be landing ourselves one of the game’s top young talents in the process.
Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano already revealed that all parties are confident that a deal can be reached. The Italian went as far as to claim that an agreement could be reached in the coming days.
Having missed out on securing him twice in the past, they remain hopeful that a third attempt will prove lucky. With a number of omens pointing in our favour, United will have only themselves to blame if the deal falls apart.
