Juventus eye Manchester United star Paul Pogba
According to Calciomercato (h/t Daily Mail), Italian giants Juventus are keen on securing Manchester United star Paul Pogba in the summer transfer window.
The French superstar is in the final year of his contract at United. With him potentially set to leave on a free transfer next year, the Red Devils have a major decision to make this summer.
Juventus, now once again under the management of Massimiliano Allegri, are keen to rebuild their midfield. The Turin giants endured a difficult season and will be keen to rebuild for the upcoming one.
Pogba is no stranger to Turin having spent four seasons at Juventus. In fact, it was with the Italians that he developed into a truly world-class player. Whether a second innings is in the offing remains to be seen.
However, Juventus making a move will depend on their ability to move on Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese legend is the club’s top earner and could call time on his short stint in Serie A.
While the Red Devils have also been linked with Ronaldo, the report goes on to say that a swap deal is certainly something that looks increasingly likely.
Though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side has made progress in recent months, they still have no silverware to show for their efforts. Meanwhile, Allegri enjoyed an excellent spell at Juventus, laden with trophies.
Now back in the hot seat, he will once again be keen to re-establish the Italians as the premier team in Serie A. Whether Pogba will be a part of it remains to be seen.

It is fair to say that Pogba on his day is amongst the best players in world football. While Ronaldo’s return would be the stuff of dreams, he is past his best.
United will do well to take the pragmatic route rather than the romantic one. After all, we should be looking at the future and not relive the glories of the past.
