Man United offer a whopping €12m-a-year package to this world-class La Liga star

Transfer News: Manchester United to double Raphael Varane wages to €12m per year

According to transfer news from Express, Raphael Varane could have his wages doubled if he joins Manchester United. The Real Madrid defender is likely to be sold during this summer.

Varane was a subject of interest from Sir Alex Ferguson around 10 years ago. But he has now become a world-class star at Real Madrid. He is arguably at his peak right now. Signing Varane would be a massive statement by Manchester United indeed.

The Red Devils are in need of a new defender and have identified the French international as a priority signing. Marry Maguire has been a success at United but lacks an adequate partner to shore up the defence. Lindelof and Bailly have been mediocre at best.

Varane could double his pay packet at United

With his contract set to expire season year, Real too have a decision to make this summer. They have reportedly taken one to sell him for around £60m if he decides to not renew his existing deal.

However, the bonus for Varane would be his wages getting doubled. Currently, Varane makes €6m per year and Manchester United are willing to double that to €12m per year.

With time slowly running out on his current deal, United are getting more and more hopeful of getting him. He would absolutely solidify our centre-back department. If anything, Varane has shown over the years that he is a world-class defender.
