Manchester United duo Daniel James and Dylan Levitt make the cut for Wales for Euro 2020
According to The Evening Standard, Manchester United starlets Daniel James and Dylan Levitt have both been named in the Wales squad for this summer’s Euros.
This is just the second time in their history that the country has qualified for Europe’s premier international tournament. They made it all the way to the semifinals in 2016 and will be aiming to do the same again.
Wales start their Euro 2020 campaign against Switzerland in Baku on June 12 before playing Turkey four days later. They complete their Group A fixtures against former champions Italy in Rome on June 20.
James has fallen down the pecking order at United but continues to be an important player for Wales. The 23-year-old has shown signs of improvement this season and will hope to impress at the grand stage.
In a boost for Wales, he recently returned from injury and even played the whole 90 minutes in our Premier League season finale at Wolverhampton Wanderers. He notched up an assist and even gained himself some much-needed match fitness.
The United winger has so far won 19 caps for his country, scoring four goals. He played all eight games in Wales’ qualification for the Euros, grabbing one goal and assist each. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Levitt meanwhile has an excellent opportunity on his hands. The 20-year-old spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Charlton Atheltic and then Croatian side Istra 1961.
While it is fair to say that he has not really got pulses racing with his performances, there is much potential in the United academy graduate. He has so far made six appearances for Wales since making his debut in 2020.

It would be fair to say that not much is expected of Wales going into the tournament. However, they surprised everyone with their run to the last four in 2016 and will strive to do so again.
